Dr. Martin Bour, DDS
After many years in private practice, Dr. Martin Bour is continuing to care for patients at Grand Dental – Frankfort. He is grateful for the relationships he has built throughout his career and looks forward to welcoming his longtime patients to his new location while continuing to serve the Frankfort community.
For Dr. Martin Bour, dentistry is about more than caring for teeth—it is about caring for people. Over his decades in practice, he has had the privilege of caring for generations of patients and values the relationships he has built with patients and families throughout the community.
Why Did He Become a Dentist?
Growing up in Monmouth, Illinois, Dr. Bour initially thought he might follow his father and grandfather into law. His interest in science ultimately led him in a different direction. Dentistry offered the combination he was looking for: the opportunity to apply his scientific interests while working closely with people and making a meaningful difference in their lives.
Where Did He Study Dentistry?
Dr. Bour attended Augustana University on a track scholarship before earning his dental degree from Northwestern University Dental School. He has continued to expand his clinical knowledge throughout his career and has a particular interest in dental implants, completing advanced continuing education in implant dentistry.
Outside the Office
Dr. Bour enjoys spending time with his wife, Cindy, and their six adult children. A licensed pilot, he also has a passion for cars and has enjoyed racing Porsches over the years. Today, one of his favorite ways to unwind is spending time on the boat with his wife.
